City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal issues directives for cleaning work at 29 corridors

KARACHI: City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has directed Municipal Services Department to make the sanitation system more coordinated and efficient at all 29 corridors of the city. He also instructed to form special teams for cleaning work at bridges, flyovers and underpasses.

During an inspection of CDGK Machinery Pool located near the Mewashah Graveyard he said that the allocation of machinery and manpower on these corridors would also provide help to concerned town administration in its usual cleaning work and they would be able to concentrate more on inner areas falling in their jurisdiction.

He also directed EDO Municipal Services to devise a well-coordinated program to bring further improvement in the sanitation condition on 29 major corridors of city government so that the vehicles and manpower of city government could be deployed at these corridors.

City Nazim also instructed concerned officials to ensure proper and immediate repairing and maintenance of vehicles and solid waste machinery stationed at CDGK machinery pool. He said that regular service of vehicles and machinery would keep this asset in good running condition.

He said that the municipal services department was established in city government to improve sanitation condition in every nook and corner of the city. The department has been provided with necessary machinery worth millions of rupees which is used in cleaning and de-silting work on all major drains, lifting and transfer of heaps of garbage and domestic waste and to keep the city clean during Eid-ul Adha.

Nazim Karachi said that besides paying attention to development projects and improvisation of infrastructure, Haq Parast City Government has also taken key steps to improve sanitation condition and make the city green and beautiful.
