KARACHI: The opposition groups in the city council had held a pres conference at opposition chamber immediately after the session was adjourned.
Addressing the press conference, Jamaat-e Islami’s Al-Khidmat Group leader Muhammad Rafique said that the opposition benches wanted to discuss the deteriorating law and order situation in city and issue of murder of Nisar Baloch but the session was deliberately adjourned.
Ahmed said that Baloch was a true social worker who for his whole life fought against the illegal occupation of public land and amenity plots for which the land mafia had killed him because he had named the land mafia two days before his murder in a press conference.
Ahmed demanded City District Government Karachi (CDGK) and Sindh government to arrest Baloch’s assassins and take effective measures for the protection of the Gutter Baghicha from land mafia.
Ahmed criticized CDGK and Sindh government for not showing interest to nab the assassins while they have been trying to shed their responsibilities.
Ahmed demanded government should name the Gutter Baghicha after Nisar Baloch.
Addressing the press conference, Pakistan People’s Party’s Awam Dost Group and deputy opposition leader in the city council Haji Muhammad Jumman Darwan claimed that the CDGK had links with the land mafia that killed Nisar Baloch.
Darwan added that the land mafia was illegally occupying all parks, playgrounds and amenity plots in the city and has sent a message in terms of Nisar Baloch’s murder that anyone who would speak against them would be silenced.
Darwan demanded Sindh government should form an enquiry at the Sindh High Court level to investigate the murder of Nisar Baloch.
Darwan also claimed that the family of the deceased Nisar Baloch has identified the assassins so the government should proceed accordingly to arrest the culprits.
Addressing the press conference, Jamaat-e Islami’s Al-Khidmat Group member Saifuddin criticized the Sindh government for lifting ban on lease and awarding CDGK with leasing powers, which could result in lease of residential plots on the Gutter Baghicha.
Addressing the pres conference, Awami National Party’s Khidmatgar Group Nasim Khan demanded Sindh government should withdraw lease powers from CDGK or else it would mean that lease on any illegal plot could be given.
Khan added that no government could change the status of amenity plots but the land mafia was doing so to please selective people.
Addressing the press conference, Awami National Party’s Khidmatgar Group leader Dr Ziauddin Ahmed demanded Sindh government should withdraw lease powers from the CDGK.
Ahmed alleged that the Site Town’s officer Maintenance and Repair has been demarcating plots on amenity plots in Site town, which was illegal and Sindh government should notice it.
Addressing the pres conference, Jamaat-e Islami’s Al-Khidmat Group member Rafiq Afghan alleged that the land mafia has illegally occupied the land of the Kakri Ground in Liyari Town.
Addressing the pres conference, Pakistan People’s Party’s Awam Dost Group member Yasmeen Butt alleged that the land mafia has illegally occupied plots reserved for garbage.
Addressing the pres conference, Pakistan People’s Party’s Awam Dost Group member Abdul Ghani Gabol demanded arrest of Nisar Baloch’s assassins and recovery of illegally occupied land.
