Sindh Minister Katchi abadis Muhammad Rafique Engineer Advocate oversees construction of SBBMC in LGH

KARACHI: Sindh minister for Katchi Abadis and Spatial Development Engineer Muhammad Rafique Advocate has said that the Liyari general Hospital was a precious gift by Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto while the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Medical College is also a gift by the President Asif Ali Zardari to the lyarities under the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

The minister stated this on the occasion of his visit to LGH on Wednesday to witness the pace of development work of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Medical College, which is being established in LGH.

The Minister had on the occasion issued directives to LGH Medical Superintendent Dr Mukhtiar Khawaja to ensure completion of development works on time so that the academic session should start during current academic year.

The Minister said that the Government has initiated various programs to provide basic health facilities to the masses.

The minister also said that the people of Liyari would soon start taking benefits of these development projects under Lyari Development Package as government was taking concrete steps for the welfare of the people.

On the occasion the MS LGH Dr Mukhtiar Khawaja informed the Minister that Rs 222 million has been allocated for the purpose for the year 2009-10, which have been released.

He also informed the minister that in order to provide quality health facilities to the people, Rs 114 million have also been allocated during current year 2009-10 for the construction of cardiovascular ward in the hospital premises.

On the occasion, Lyari development package Project Director Shafique Ur Rehman Paracha informed the Minister about the ongoing development schemes in the area and said that a special monitoring system has been evolved to ensure quality of work in these schemes.

The minister also inaugurated installation of generator facility at the Lee Market and shah Waliullha Water Pumping Stations worth Rs 250 million.

The minister said that the conspirators have once again started their efforts to topple the elected government. He said that under a vested design, the youth of Liyari was engaged in unemployment and uneducated but Pakistan People's Party's elected government would address all such issues.

On the occasion, member provincial assembly Dr Saleem Hingoro said that ongoing development projects were a sign that the PPP's government has complete understanding of people's grievances and these would be resolved.

On the occasion, nazim Liyari Town Hashim Mehmood said that the Liyari has started the journey of development and prosperity while the elected legislators especially Rafique Engineers, Sardar Nabeel Gabol have been struggling for the betterment of Liyari.
