KARACHI: Landhi Town Municipal Administration (TMA) has taken various measures for the improvement of education and in recent past it had opened a few most modern English medium schools in Landhi with hiring of services of highly qualified and trained English language teachers. These measures have taken the Landhi to lead other TMAs as regards to reforms in education sector.
While talking to Daily Times, Member National Assembly Syed Asif Hasnain who has been vigilant on the matters pertaining to Landhi TMA said that as a matter of fact, these mega developments in the education sector have resulted due to constant monitoring of the education sector by the present Haq Parast leadership for a reason that the area had been closed for healthy activities for more than twelve years under no-go theme.
“Education should be must for all and it should not be delivered as per variety or matter of choices but it should be uniform and standard from Karachi to Khyber with modern scientific curriculae” vowed Hasnain.
Hasnain added that around 10,000 children of Landhi TMA would be inducted at primary level, which would double up next year. These school premises have been prepared in a way that these could be transformed into degree colleges at any level.
Till date, around Rs 10 million have been the cost for uplifting each of these modern schools while a twelve-member board has already been formed to look after these modern schools. The board would be responsible for policies governing these modern schools, added Hasnain.
It is also of pivotal importance that only the merit would be the criterion for admission in these schools, as no political or social personality would be allowed to intervene into the Board’s decisions. No parents should worry about expenses accrued on education because all books and other relevant material was being provided free of cost. This would continue till end because many philanthropist industrialists have partaken the responsibility, claimed Hasnain.
The rampant coaching sectors that have become commercially dominant in every nook and corner of the city, especially in Landhi TMA have been entirely discouraged and in order to provide an alternative to the students, free of cost three evening learning centres in different areas of Landhi TMA have already been established with satisfactory delivery of tuition, said Hasnain. The salaries of the teaching personnel were equal to any other private institution in the city and it had been possible with the help of donators. Complete upgradation of learning environment, school premises and deployment of trained and dedicated has been ensured, said Hasnain.
