KARACHI: In the biennial elections of Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Karachi Branch, following cabinet members were elected unopposed for the year 2010-2011.
The new cabinet include;
Dr Muhammad Idress Adhi Honorary President,
Dr Salamat Kamal Honorary Vice President-I,
Dr Khalil Mukaddam Honorary Vice President-II),
Dr Syed Amir Raza Abidi Honorary General Secretary,
Dr Muhammad Ismail Memon Honorary Joint Secretary,
Dr Muhammad Shahid Shamim Finance Secretary,
Dr Kiran Ejaz Librarian,
Dr Erum Kazmi Editor Urdu Journal and
Dr Syed Furqan Zafar Editor English Journal.
It is pertinent to mention that the previous cabinet especially Dr Aziz Tank and Dr Samrina Hashmi did not file nomination papers.
The elections were scheduled on Dec 15 but the results were announced on Dec 14 because the contestants were elected unopposed.
The 29-members Executive Committee was also elected unopposed. The general body meeting would be held on Dec 31, 2009 at PMA House. The new cabinet would assume office.
