Maldives HC calls on Nasreen Jalil

KARACHI: The High Commissioner of Republic of Maldives stationed in Islamabad Dr Aishath Shehenaz Adam called on City Naib Nazim Nasreen Jalil at city Naib Nazim’s secretariat on Friday. They discussed issues of collateral interests.

On the occasion, Jalil said that Karachi was the largest city of Muslim world and the citizens of the city were entirely peaceful.

She added that the elected representatives of the city have been striving with their best to resolve people’s grievances while peace and harmony has been ensured through close interaction among different cultural entities.

Jalil said that despite widespread threats of terrorism across the country, Muttahidda Qaumi Movement has challenged the Talibanisation threats in the best interest of the country.

She said that the citizens of the city have realized the devastating consequences of the Talibanisation so they have fully supported it.

The High Commissioner said on the occasion that although she has been first time in the city but she has felt the city was peaceful and MQM’s liberal philosophy has caused people of different origins and cultures to come closer to each other.

The High Commissioner also lauded City District Government Karachi for its immense contribution on the plane of development.
