Disposal of sacrificial animals’ offals:

KARACHI: The civic service providers in city to work in coordination with City District Government Karachi (CDGK) and town municipal administrations as regards to collection of sacrificial animals offals and appropriate disposal according to scientific methods during three days of the Eid-ul Adha. Citizens should also play their role to maintain cleanliness in back lanes and on streets, District Coordination Officer (DCO) Karachi Javed Hanif Khan has stated this while he was chairing a exigent meeting of CDGK officers and representatives of civic services providers on Saturday. The City Naim Syed Mustafa Kamal had to chair the meeting but due to other important engagements, the DCO was assigned to convene the meeting and ensure flawless measures.
Addressing the meeting, the DCO said that the scientific method of burial of sacrificial animals’ offals on past Eid-ul-Adha had ensured positive results while it saved the city from environmental pollution and airplanes from birds flying on the scattered offals.
The method used by the CDGK and the TMAs during four years has been appreciated at all levels; therefore, other organization in city should also follow the same for lifting and burial of offal while the CDGK would provide help if required.
The meeting also decided that the CDGK would depute special staff at landfill sites to ensure the offals were not dumped on open space. Offals would be buried in trenches so as to avoid environmental pollution.
The meeting further decided that alternate vehicles would be used besides regular vehicles during lifting of offal and the CDGK would assist with necessary fumigation.
Ther DCO directed officers concerned to ensure well coordinated efforts for lifting of offal and maintenance of cleanliness in the city during all three days of Eid.
