KARACHI: Karachi city was not only an important city of Pakistan but for the whole region as it caters to almost all countries in the Northern belt as regards to supplies of all sorts. The natural port of the city, the Karachi Port has been the lifeline to the troops engaged in combating the militants under the nomenclature of War on Terror. Thus the city’s role for helping the international community to stay safe from terrorism could not be overlooked.
City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal stated this while talking to the Ambassador of Netherlands in Islamabad T.A Reintjes who alongwith a high level delegation called on him Wednesday at his office.
Kamal, who has been making efforts to attract foreign investors to city and has been grossly concentrated his capabilities to market the city’s vast potential for the international investors said that the city had inherited various promising opportunities to the foreign investors for reasons that the city has been a gateway to a huge market in its vicinity.
Kamal claimed that the city naturally constitutes gateway for Afghanistan and Central Asian countries. Further, the city was demographically in close neighbourhood of countries of the Gulf in the Middle East.
Kamal added that the Haq Parast leadership had realized the vast potential of the city, henceforth, from the platform of the City District Government Karachi, they have succeeded in completing civic facilities in city’s industrial zones on war footing basis.
Kamal said that the development canvas has covered city’s residential and commercial areas while city’s all industrial zones have been ensured for non-stop utilization of civic facilities especially the means of communication and transportation that the CDGK has revolutionized by construction of countless roads and Signal free Corridors.
Nonetheless, the CDGK has done every effort to ensure that the foreign investors had gained world standard facilities with opening of unlimited trade and investment opportunities in the city.
Kamal also apprised the delegation of city’s huge development during last four years and said that the swift uplift process has not only resolved city’s age-old problems but paved ways for prompt foreign investment.
“We have completed all these works under a vision and with better planning for the future that has stabilized our economy”, vowed Kamal adding that laying the infrastructure in city was governed by in-depth homework so as to make ways to provide maximum facilities for business and trade activities.
The Ambassador appreciated the City Nazim for his role and remarked that it was duty of a good government to resolve citizens’ problems.
The Ambassador was pleased to comment on CDGK’s contribution to city’s upliftment as he said that the city has witnessed rapid progress during last few years and thus it has reached a point of status of world’s well-developed city.
The Ambassador also expressed hope that the development process in city would continue and the citizens of the city would avail more benefits form fast paced progress.
