NADRA registers 341811 IDPs from Swat, South Waziristan and distributes Rs 8.45 billion

KARACHI: The National Database and registration Authority (NADRA) has were registered and verified 328,456 citizens Internally Displaced People (IDPs) from Swat and 13,355 IDPs from South Waziristan and distributed through ATM over Rs. 8 billion and Rs. 45.3 million. NADRA deputy chairman Tariq Malik has said.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday, Malik said that while Pakistan Army was fighting war on terror, NADRA has implemented government’s strategy to win the hearts and minds of IDP.
He said that NADRA employees are doing a commendable job for IDP’s and their enthusiasm is as high as ever. Services of NADRA employees for IDPs have been outstanding and they have vowed to help the nation at any cost.
He said that NADRA had deployed special software at 332 National Swift Registration Centres in the country for the registration of IDPs with special counters for their convenience.
He added that transparency in aid distribution is the cornerstone of Government’s 3-R Strategy: Relief, Reconstruction, and Rehabilitation, NADRA is transforming this strategy into a technology solution through NADRA’s designed special software, which provides government of Pakistan with necessary aid in a transparent manner while providing audit trail and avoid multiple registrations.
